Rene Mels / Maurice Micha

This Belgium artist made several watercolours proving

that with this technique a lot is possible as well.

We did some search work and found this monogramme

on other works from his hand as well. Rene Mels worked

together with big names in the international art world

such as Pol Bury, Georges Collignon, Jo Delahaut, 

Jean Milo en Léopold Plomteux.

At the bottom in the right corner his monogramme

can be seen on this work.

In this work Mels worked more abstract than on the

first work presented here but his style can be recognized.

Probably the "departure" here also was nature.

Maurice Micha

This caricatural approach has been done with great

craftsmanship and is only one of the many skills this

Belgium artist had in his pocket!

And of course his signature. Surprising to our opinion

is the modernistic approach of this subject: It could have

been drawn yesterday. Charcoal on paper. Dimensions: 

26 / 34 cm. Produced in 1919.
