William Leslie Rackham ( 1864 - 1944) / Zdravko Rajkovic / Camille Renard ( 1832 - 1921 )

Presented here is Potter Heigham Bridge in Norfolk England.
The bridge is believed to date from 1385. It is still in existence
and remains one of the most difficult obstacles to navigate
in the broads. One should think the colours have fainted
over time but most of his watercolors are done in this
manner. Work on paper. Dimensions: 17  / 26 cm.

Hard to distinguish but it is there, his signature.

With simple means this artist is capable to suggest a lot.

Just observe the figures on the bridge, in fact no more than
tiny spots of watercolor, suggesting it to be people.

As can be seen quite often the passe partout has also been
painted on to give it a more profilic aspect.

Zdravko Rajkovic ( 1932 - 2012 )

A rather big watercoor from this Kroatian painter and
especially watercolorist. He made a complete cyclus that
was entitled: "Hommage a Michelangelo". Work on
paper. Dimensions: 36 / 48 cm.

And indeed the first prefic is a "Z". Many thanks to
Willy Buysse who discovered the real artist behind
this work. The struggle for freedom in former Yugoslavie
has been celebrated with an exposition in Zagreb 1976.
This work has been dated the same year!

Camille Renard

A nice watercolor from this quite a bit older belgium
artist. Remarkable are the fresh colors that in fact
makes the scenery timeless. Work on paper.
Dimensions 30 / 46 cm.

And a personal message Camille Renard wrote on the back!

His signature which is really stylish.

This label places this watercolor: On the coast of
south Belgium around the river the "IJzer".
