A watercolour from this German artist that only had a short
life span. Probably made in the 19th century and therefore it
is surprising that it is still fresh to these days. Most likely
an Italian garden with a manor house is depicted here.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 38 / 52 cm.
Contratry to his abilities with oil on canvas we think his
technique in watercolour is more outstanding. The best
selling result indeed was a watercolour auctioned at
Christies (Kensington) Result about 2200 Euro's.
Some details: as the light appears to come somewhat from the
back / left, the cypress trees glow up dark. The roofs have
been painstakingly done.
His signature is very well readable but people always like
to compare it on different works, therefore presented here.
Jo DeBlieck
In fact in the first place a sculptor but besides that a gifted
painter as well. Fulfilled his studies in Florenc. He has been
mentioned in the Paul Piron as a painter who was close
associated with lyrical abstraction. He was a professor
at St' Lucas in Brussels and was later a teacher at the
Highschool in Anderlecht (near Brussels)
Work on Paper. Dimensions: 53 / 70 cm.
And his signature of course is presented here as it
is obvious at the moment you are aware what to read
but before that….. made in 1987. We're going to
give it a try to get in touch with him! My wife loves it!
