A lush painted watercolor in which technique
Middelhoek exces. Work on paper: 40 / 50 cm.
It depicts the "Delftse Vaart" a place that has
been bombed on the 10th of may 1945.
Here is a photograph of what once was a beautiful
piece of Rotterdam.
The "Delftse Vaart" still exists but the environment
can hardly be recognized anymore
You can see the Laurens Church that still exists
on this detail.
And another detail....
Also the old bridge isn't there anymore.
The label says: Painting out of our own workshop
Pierre Michel
In which category should we place this work of art?
Another work from this artist was one of the first more
abstract works we bought but that one was done in black
ink only. We sold it but we regretted that over the years.
We think this one to be in ink an combination with color
ink. In my younger years they sold Ecoline and that
could have been the case here. work on paper.
