Firmin Verhevick ( 1874 - 1962 )
This watercolour is made by the Belgium artist Firmin Verhevick.
The use of colours and subjects allways makes him easily
distinguishable. Work on paper. Dimensions: 30 - 40 cm.
Presented here is a watercolor of the city of Laken.
The church in the background is the Maria church.
With a lot of melacholism in it, Verhevick always presents his
works. His works of Venice will always remain the top of
his watercolors. Work on paper. Dimensions: 26 / 37 cm.
.
We were able to obtain this one at the same time: Huy and
the exact place is written under the signature as is the date
of this watercolor. Work on paper: Dimensions: 25 / 35 cm.
The signature Verhevick is known for is presented on
the second work: written with in watercolor paint.
Here the signature has been placed in ink as is the
information underneath it. He made this watercolor
being 24 years old.
Vismara
A nicely styled watercolour by an unknown
artist for us. This work has a lot of delicacy in it
and seeing it in reality one cannot only but confirm this.
Probably an italian artist by the name: Vismara??
Work on paper. Dimensions: 40 / 50 cm.
Edgar Wiethase
This Belgium based painter merely painted scenes with horses
and he was one of the last "members" of the animal painting
tradition in Belgium. This watercolor is proof of his abilities
in that field.
Some nice details I've added to take an even closer look.
It is obvious that he also used ink markings besides the
watercolour technique.
His colors are allways joyful and that makes a work like
this fresh to these days.
The signature which is very well readable. A slight dis-
coloration which is inevitable over time being exposed
to light and maybe even some direct sunlight!
