Raphael Lagye ( 1862 - 1952 )

Besides oilpaintings and pastel works, Lagye also
did some watercolors. strangely enough the auction
prices for his works differ a lot from each other.
Raphael Lagye was the son of Victor Lagye.
His works can be described as "mood"  realism.
He worked in Antwerp as well as Brussels where
he was successful with romantic city views.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 45 / 57 cm.

And his signature that at first wasn't clear to us.
He appears to be a member of a dynasty of artsmen.

Dirk de Vries Lam

A nice watercolour of Enkhuizen the place where
this artist produced some work around 1900.
Very well preserved and catchy regarding
the colours that are used in the northern part of

Holland. Work on paper. Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.
