No. in fact this watercolour has no signature at all!
The technique of watercolouring was at a high level
during the nineteenth century.
We were catched by the oilpaintings of Kuwasseg and
this one has a bit the same atmosphere.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 25 / 35 cm.
Arnold Koning
A drawing / watercolor, quickly done but with a lot
of atmosphere into it. The signature as hardly readable
but we have the first to prefixes of his familyname
and the first prefix of his birth name. Looking it up
in the Pieter Scheen will do the rest!
A quick and hardly readable name
This seems to be the Palace on the DAM in Amsterdam
depicted from the Damstreet.
Jules Verschuuren
At last we found this signature on an auction that
appears to be similar to that of the following work
The artist is Jules Verschuuren and he is registrated in the
Piet Scheen (The Netherlands)
A bit of a strange move of this artist as this
painting has been made on an affiche. We liked the
impressionistic approach of this subject.
Work on paper. Dimensions; 65 / 100 cm.
Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg
After having seen a real oil on canvas fro this master we became
very enthousiastic about this painter so though unsigned we thought
we also had a "real" Kuwasseg" in our collection. Anyway it
resembles the watercolour here beyond a bit but in the 19th century
there were lots of artists working that way. This one is a watercolour.
Work on paper. Dimension 22 / 33 cm.
An example of a real "Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg".
To out believe he really excells in his oil paintings and
the specific light he puts into the sceneries.
