Anton Pieck / Marcel Praet / Prague

For the Anton Pieck lovers a rather unusual watercolor
as Pieck's work mostly is known being meticulously
executed. This is a rough sketch and he mostly didn't
even collected them. Thanks to a friend of him, these
drawings and watercolors still can be seen at the Anton
Pieck museum in Hattem (The Netherlands)

But the posture of this woman figure is typical for
Anton Pieck as is this subject, most likely Amsterdam.
This work was a study for a calender that in certain
times were published each year.

The monogram with that strange small "hook" at
the bottom of the right leg of the prefix "A".

Another example of his rough studies. A pure
estimate of this work not taking the fame of the
maker into account wouldn't be that high but being
a genuine Anton Pieck, things are becoming into
another league.

Marcel Praet

This watercolour shows the exquisite workmanship
of this contemporary belgium artist. Marcel Praet
is at this moment retired professor at an Art Academie
near Antwerp (Belgium) Apart from his great skills,
Marcel is a friendly and endearing personality we
were able to meet an a vernissage. Work on paper.
Dimensions: 30 / 40 cm.

Prague

We were able to buy some watercolours of which this one
was our goal. Most possible made by an unknown street
artist but this one hits the nail exactly: With simple spots
The statues on the right have been done and the same
counts for the lamppost on the left. The view as a whole
from beneath gives the scenery an unexpected extra.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 18 /26 cm.
