Marcel Notebaert (1924 - 1986)
A rather small but humoristic watercolor from
tis Belgium artist who won the Price of Rome in 1949.
He was an expressionist at first but later moved towards
a magic and fantastic Realism as can be seen here.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 25 / 34 cm.
Notebaert mostly signed his work with jus "Noteb"
as is the case here. As with more flemish expressionists
the scenery appears to be able to be catched in your
hands what makes it more intimate.
