A very romantic view on this subject by this Belgium
based artist. Van der Hecht lived in the 19th century and
gives us a nice example of a work out of the Romantic
period. He lived from 1817 until 1891.
There was a lot of attention to detail!
Also in the trees and rocks. But it is obvious that
van der Hecht worked in opaque colors which at
that time was usual, even with watercolours.

And of course I'll include a picture of his signature
as in the Paul Piron signature book van der Hecht
isn't there. He lived from 1817 - 1891 and was well
known as an illustrator. He was asked as a teacher
for the Royal family.

In fact a difficult subject as so much has been done
allready with landscapes and trees. However the
play with the vertical lines is interesting in combination
with the lighter and darker parts. To make a subject
like this interesting requires skills to our believe.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 23 / 32 cm.
