Arthur Sarkissian was one of the employees, working
in the workshop of Hayrapetian in Teheran - Iran.
All the painters working there were allowed to sign with
their own name. Several famous painters started their
career in this workshop. The signature, which is on the
lower left says: Arthur S, Stu Hayrapetian, Tehran
1962. Work on paper. Dimensions: 32 / 24 cm.
The signature undeniable can be identified as being
the original signature by this artist. however there is
an americain painter with the same name, born in 1960.
His work shows a much more modern approach.
This work can be dated 1962 as the signature states.
Sometimes the Hayratepian studio is better known as
Demon studio. Artists like B. Ahmari, A. Vartavian,
A . Svarchian , S. Melkonian and R. Zarian and of
course the founder R.A Hayrapetian started there.
