Oddly enough we never came across a crayon from
this artist. It is small in dimensions but absolutely
shows his skills as a landscape drawer. As the glass
in the encadrement was very dirty we were able to
obtain it at a very low price. Once cleaned, this
was the result! Work on paper. Crayon.
Dimensions: 15 / 23 cm.
A. de Taffe
Very little can be found about this artist. Being
a somewhat too often copied subject this one
immediately drew our attention because of the
expression of the trees and the subtle play in
the light and shadow parts. A secure observation
learns that the artist used the color of the paper
on which he worked in the tree trunks on the
right. Work on paper. Dimensions: 50 / 60 cm.
A closer inspection of the the third prefix of his
family name indeed learns it to be a 'T".
Only one other work could be found on the internet:
A vue at the mill of Ramskapelle (southwest of
Belgium)
Dictus
At first sight we believed this work to be an etching.
However after studying it with a magnifying glass
it has been watercoloured and thus must have been
a lot of work. Work on paper. Dimensions: 20 / 25 cm.
