Jan Duchene
When you are a traveller in the south of France and you
have a short stay in a village hotel during a longer journey
by car it is possible that you have a view like this from
your hotel room. Most likely you will forget those
moments but never the feeling you have at these specific
moments. Work on paper. Dimensions: 13 / 20 cm.
And the signature of Jan Duchene who died one year later...
H.J. Duiverman
Indeed, this is not a watercolour but a crayon. A subject
Duiverman often choosed, also in his oil paintings. In
fact not a sunny day but still rainy and the way Duiver-
man expresses this deserves special attention. Work
on paper. Dimensions: 27 / 37 cm.
The wetted ground can be studied here and
of course the chickens that are often there.
Another detail from this remarkable work. Take a
look at the roof tiles.
His signature, probably followed by "fc" which
means "fecit" ( made by me )
