P. Zapoli / Victor Zhadanov

Finely executed this view must be very well known
to most visitors of Venetia. Probably done by a
gifted street artist but nonetheless! Work on paper.
Dimensions: 25 / 35 cm.

The brushstrokes aren't the finely placed is one would
expect at first glance. But the impression is there.

And another detail.

Depicting water has allways been a challenge for artists.
As for watercolours, Xavier Swolfs in Belgium is a master
in that aspect. But in oil I would suggest everyone to
look at the paintings of Frits Thaulow from Norway.

Victor Zhadanov

This Russian artist has been invited to give workshops in
Belgium. That must have been the reason we came across
this small but intriguing watercolour. His way of  creating
watercolours seems to ask for a totally different approach.

Not starting with watercolour immediately but
putting the idea on paper in pencil. Remarkable in
all his portraits is an allmost photographical
approach of the face itself. The surroundings
can allmost be entitled as abstract work!

A very finely placed hand and the forceful colour red!

Difficult to find any of his works on the internet but
luckily enough he is on Facebook. Maybe Russia
will open his gates for his artists to become popular
in the rest of the world as Russian Art is really
worth looking at! Work on paper. 22 / 28 cm.
