Selma Verhoeven Magre / Albert de Vree / Louis de Vriese

A nice watercolour that depicts the garden of the Dordrecht
Museum. In other works she appears to work a lot more in
an expressionistic way. That her skills are there is evident.
Work on paper. Dimensions: 35 / 45 cm.

Albert de Vree

In fact Albert de Vree is better known for his quality
etchings but he did watercolors as well. This one
presents a small house in Zandvliet situated just
above Antwerp. The romantic atmosphere is
allways there in his watercolors. Work on paper.
Dimensions: 40 / 55 cm.

Louis de Vriese

Rather surprising as these kind of abstract works are
not executed in watercolor most of the time. Louis de
Vriese (Belgium - 1938) did this several times and to
be honest it really ads something to what the artist
ment here. Work on paper. Dimensions: 22 / 27 cm.

A view with the surrounding white boarding gives you
another experience so to say. Therefore I've added this
one. It would be a pity to make this work even smaller
with a passe partout.

His signature has been done here in pencil but is
almost impossible to read. In order to have a bit
of "glance" from the written prefixes in pencil
I took a picture a bit from an angle.

Luckily the mystery was solved when I took this work
out of its' frame. The back of this work was provided
with a stamp and a signature as well. He made this work
back in 1977. Possibly the second work could be from
his hand as well but done in crayon.
